Bowser HO Scale X31 Round-Roof Boxcars are based on the distinctive cars built beginning in 1934 by the Pennsylvania Railroad at its Altoona, Pennsylvania, shops and under contract by other builders. The signature cars featured a rounded-edge roof designed to maximize interior space in the cars. Several roof and door variations were constructed and the Bowser models are available in several variations. Pennsy operated thousands, and many also went to other railroads affiliated with PRR as well as those which purchased them used. They operated into the 1970s, and later in work train service, so they'll look great in steam or classic diesel-era freight consists on your railroad. This ready-to-run model features a detailed injection-molded body with accurate decoration, body-mounted knuckle couplers and appropriate trucks with metal wheels for operation on Code 70 or larger rail.
